Responsibilities: Must possess a current valid Colorado RN license and a current BCLS certification. Cardiac rehab experience required. RN experience in critical care preferred.

Min. Qualifications: Pay opportunity is $22.93 - 36.64 per hour.

This position is in our cardiac rehab department. The nurse will be required to assist with exercise classes, plans of care, EKG interpretation, and diagnostic treadmills. Responsibilities also include providing education on COPD, heart failure, asthma, exercise, and relaxation. The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with departmental and facility policies and with standards of professional nursing practice. RNs utilize specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data, plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of patients. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self and others who are under his/her direction. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Provider - Coordinates care of the patient and family using a multidisciplinary holistic approach that includes assessing the physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, and cultural and discharge planning needs. Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data, patient, family and health team input. Implements the plan of care through direct patient care. Evaluates the patient's and family's response to care. Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care. Follows standard precautions in the provision of patient care and implements other infection control measures as necessary. Utilizes equipment according to manufacturer's recommendations and hospital policy.

2. Teacher - Uses nursing theory and research to provide individual and family education. Assess the patient's and family's preference for learning methodologies. Implement the teaching about discharge on admission using the preferred method of learning. Evaluate the patient's and family's response to the teaching. Document the teaching and patient, family members understanding

3. Advocate - Provides a climate in which individuals and families may act in their own interest. RN's intervene when patients are unable to act in their own interest. Develop the goals for patient in conjunction with patient and family. Maintain the plan of care developed with the patient and family and communicate with other health care providers the patient and family wishes/requests as the plan of care requires changes. Evaluate the impact of the plan on the patient and family. Document the patient's /family's wishes to better communicate with all other health care providers. Reports/removes unsafe equipment.

4. Manager - Implements the plan of care through coordination, delegation and supervision of the activities of the multidisciplinary team working to achieve desired outcomes through implementation of individual and family care with effective use of time, resources, equipment and work systems. Delegates appropriately, and provides nursing supervision in the provision of care to patients by other licensed nurses and other personnel. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of patients for whom care is provided. Reports/documents unexpected occurrences involving patients and others as appropriate. Follows hospital and unit specific emergency and disaster preparedness plan.

5. Member of the Profession - As a member of the profession, a RN is accountable for the safety, ethical, legal and professional responsibilities related to all nursing functions. Ensures care is provided on basis of physician orders and the nursing plan of care, in compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and regulatory agency requirements
